Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-14
aicostsim (“we,” “us”) runs aicostsim.com, which publishes cost estimates for running AI agents, with a free simulator and a form to request a free, individually prepared cost report. This Privacy Policy covers this website: what it collects, why, how long we keep it, and the small set of providers involved.
The numbers you enter in the simulator describe a hypothetical workflow, not your real accounts or business data. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers anywhere on the site.
1. Information we collect
a. When you read a page or use the simulator
- An anonymous session. A first-party, signed cookie carries a random session identifier. It holds no personal information and is not tied to your identity unless you later request a report.
- What you do on the page. Which controls you interact with and the configuration you build in the simulator (scenario values, toggles, and inputs), so we can learn which parts people find useful.
- The workflow you describe. If you type a description of what you are building and pick a platform, we keep that text and the pick, whether or not you go on to request a report. Learning which workflows people want priced is what this page is for. Please do not include confidential details or personal information about other people in the description.
- Basic technical context. The page that referred you, the address of the page you arrived on (including any campaign tags in the link), and your browser’s user-agent string, each truncated. We do not store your IP address.
b. When you request a cost report
- The email address you provide (required), your workflow description, your platform pick, and whether you marked the report as being for a client.
- We link your email to the anonymous session above, so we can see the path that led to your request.
c. When you sign up for price-log updates
- The email address you provide. We use it only to email you when a new entry is published on the API pricing log. You can ask to be removed at any time by emailing info@aicostsim.com.
d. When you send feedback
- Your answer to “Was this helpful?” and anything you write about how to improve the page, linked to the anonymous session above. Please do not include confidential details or personal information about other people.
- The email address, if you leave one. We use it only to reply to that feedback.
2. How we use your information
- Run the site and keep the simulator working.
- Learn which workflows people want priced, so we can decide what to publish next.
- Prepare the report you asked for and send it to the email you gave. A person prepares it; the reply comes from us, not from an automated system.
- Email you when a new entry is published on the API pricing log, if you signed up for that.
- Comply with applicable law and protect the security and integrity of the website.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising trackers. The simulator and the report are free; we do not collect payment information on this website.
3. Service providers we share data with
We rely on a small number of providers to run the website. Each receives only the data needed to deliver its part of the service:
- A hosting and edge-delivery provider that serves the website, terminates TLS, and handles routing.
- A managed database provider that stores the anonymous sessions, the report requests and the feedback you submit.
- An email delivery provider that carries the report and any replies between us and the email address you gave.
Beyond these providers, we share personal information only when required by law, when necessary to protect the rights and safety of users or the public, or in connection with a corporate transaction (merger, acquisition, sale of assets). You will be notified before your information is transferred to a successor with a different privacy policy.
4. Data retention
- Anonymous sessions, the interaction records tied to them, the workflow descriptions and the feedback you send are kept as part of our product-research record. They are not linked to your identity unless you requested a report or left an email with your feedback.
- Report requests (your email and what you submitted with it) are kept while we are in contact about your request and for as long as we have a legitimate business need to retain them.
- You can ask us to delete your report request or a workflow description you submitted at any time by emailing info@aicostsim.com. We will delete it within thirty (30) days.
5. Your rights
You may request to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information you have given us by emailing info@aicostsim.com. Depending on where you live, you may also have additional rights under the GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable privacy laws, including the right to object to or restrict certain processing. We will honor those rights as required by law.
6. Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including TLS for data in transit, encryption at rest where our providers offer it, scoped database access, and least-privilege access for personnel. No system is perfectly secure; if you have a concern, please contact us.
7. Children’s privacy
aicostsim is a tool for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. International users
We operate from the United States. If you use the website from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and in any country in which our providers operate.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the website after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
